Do REPTILES play with TOYS???
Просмотров 7 тыс.2 года назад
I am constantly asked, "Do reptiles play with toys?" The answer, of course, is yes. Reptiles need and deserve enrichment - very simply, it makes their lives better. Please consider treating your pet reptile like your pet dog or cat... you might be surprised how it responds. Reptiles can and will follow commands if taught through positive reinforcement for desired behavior and negative reinforce...

Did A Cottonmouth Chase Me? No, No It Did Not!
Просмотров 7 тыс.2 года назад
The venomous cottonmouth is a much maligned snake species that occurs over large parts of North America. Everyone has a story about someone they know being "chased", when, in reality, most of the time, people cannot even correctly identify the snake species seen, much less interpret correctly the behavior seen. Cottonmouths are very calm and prefer to scare threats away by gaping and showing th...

I just wouldn’t.
Are you okay Tom ? Haven't seen you in a very long time !
Just recently became aware of this viper. What a beautiful, wild-looking, and mild-manered green beast.
Love this video 😊
Oh Tom is gonna start his bullshit monetized video. I can guess before he starts talking. copperhead in USA for beginners, adder in Europe for beginners. Both domestic mild venomous with good antivenom available. Pygmy rattlesnake as a 2nd for USA EDIT: this Tom is giving good advice besides the 30 second blub
I see that you handle that albino cobra very not safe. Good luck not ever making an error with your handling procedures.
George Van Horn herpetogist bitten 13 times including bites from his King Cobra which was his best venom producer. St. Cloud Florida. Carl Barden Medtoxin laboratory Reptile Discovery Center Deland Florida bitten 11 times by various venomous snakes. Jim Harrison Kentucky Reptile Zoo in Slade Kentucky bitten 15 times by various venomous snakes. These men risks their lives creating antivenom which saves lives including their own lives on a daily basis.
That's how antivenom is made. You need to handle the snake exactly like that to milk it. It is a very dangerous job, but someone has to do it. That's why there are procedures and multiple people in the room at the same time. Your comment is pretty asinine @JamesKing2understandinglife.
Best venomous snake: garter snake. Maybe a hognose.
I’m new to your channel Tom, and I think you’re doing an awesome job. You deserve much respect
Just talking right now about the speed and power of these snakes is making me shake with respect and awe
My question to those who think they can handle Gaboons, the most beautiful snake on Earth, is, are you prepared to possibly lose a limb and have organ failure if you happen to keep your life post bite?
So frickin cool
Subbed 👍🏼
Grew up in North Queensland came across a few of these playing in bushland or rain Forrest's just north of us. Beautiful pythons and they grow HUGE to. Love Amethysts.
It's just a case of FAFO: If you fuck around you're gonna find out.
Solid advise, I would never own a snake of any kind but if I was considering I would follow the advise in this video
This is by far 1 of my top favorite snakes along with the Twig Snake of Africa. Thx a bunch for this highly informative video. I hope all is well with yall 🙏
I'll stick to dogs and cats.
This guy helped save Tyler Nolan’s life when he got bit by that cobra❤️
Nope. I don’t think that at all. I know my limits.
this is so weird. whoever if F'ing with poor Tom. God Bless him for keeping it professional and trying to help
What state and county does Tom have his farm. great place for the scaleys.
Only a pro or a crazy person would want one. How many local hospitals would have antivenin on hand for a cobra bite? Many probably wouldn’t have any for a rattlesnake bite never mind something like that.
Why even have them . Let me go get a great white shark and make my pool a salt water pool
Magnificent creature. 😊😊😊
Does anyone know if Crocodile Monitors are legal in either Georgia or Florida? One of my dreams is to own a bunch of my favorite animals once I buy a big enough house one day, But I’ve recently realized that a lot of my dream animals happen to be Illegal in Georgia(where I live) but Legal In Florida😂😅
Awesome video, the mental health of reptiles is something rarely thought about. I am glad to see you are starting to post videos again. I look forward to seeing more videos from you. You have a wealth of knowledge that the reptile keeps need. We only have a couple elite reptile keeps on the internet that can give us uneducated keeps the knowledge we need. You sir are one of if not the most knowledgeable people. Please make more videos 🙏.
When snakes "chase" you, 99.9% of the time, they are trying to find the nearest form of cover where they can hide from you. If the nearest form of cover is right behind you, then that's where they'll go. There are snakes that will do mock strikes, or mock charges, but chances are, you've never encountered the types of snakes that do that.
I was preparing some jokes for the comment section but this guy explained it so well and so earnestly that... I just gotta sit here and appreciate it
I have been chased by a cotton mouth. I have also seen one come out of the water like a Cobra and try to strike a friend while fishing. He didn't see it until it was by his leg. The only reason he didn't get bit was because I yelled at him to move. Cotton Mouths are aggressive depending on the circumstances. I really wish people would quit saying they aren't. I have fished for 40 yrs. I have see hundreds of cotton mouths that were just curious. I have only met 2 that were extremely aggressive (unprovoked). Always remember wild animals are "Wild". Stay safe
I just learned of this species and they are stunning, there is also no antivenin for them...
theyr so cute :3
Im not afraid of snakes but i i have handled constrictors and know enough about snakes that with a long hook i won't get bit but i don't fuck with venomous snakes unless i absolutely have to and im glad that was only once.
Tom, thank you for speaking on this. Such an overlooked part of husbandry some times. I always say, prolonged stress can and will significantly shorten the lifespan of a reptile.
San Pan had some money!
I would love to know if the dude ever updated you. 😂
i will never get a venomous snake, i own plenty non venomous species but it’s always nice reviewing this video, getting to understand more about this opportunity and caring for these animals.
Wow you sound as much of a cuck as you look. Not to mention your attacks on Facebook posts, you nutjobs suddenly have spine behind the keyboard.
1:00 pure skill and experience🔥🔥
A +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Hey Tom , I worked for you for a summer until I got arrested on my motorcycle. See if you can remember me. DJ
Venomous snake keeping? No thank you. I’ll enjoy seeing them through videos or a VERY secure glass enclosure.
Thanks for spreading your experience Tom!
THIS ABSOLUTELY NEEDED TO BE SAID 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Thanks, Tom!!
Cool snake
He a beast of a alligator snapping turtle!!
